This is the best record for a Bloomington High School reserve basketball team forseveral years. After losing the first three games ofthe season, the Panther Cubs, under the supervision of second-year reserve coach Jim McMillan,reeled off a ten game winning streak, during whichthey averaged 53.4 points per game compared totheir opponents 34.3 points per game. The Mac-Men finished their season by winning three oftheir last five games.Sophomore forward, Charlie Byrnes, led the cluboffensively, scoring 172 points in 17 contests for a10.1 average. Byrnes was followed closely by classmates Dan Grossman and Joe Greenwell, averaging8.2 and 7.4 points per game respectively. Providingadditional offensive assistance were junior DaveVinup, who averaged 6.6 points per game, andsophomore guards Dave Behrman and Joe Walker,both of whom averaged 4.2 points per game.33
