Description: The cast of MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS takes a bow after their last performance.For the students with dramatic, artistic, or musical ability,Bloomington High School offers many opportunities for perfecting and expressing their talents. An outlet for expressionis one of the many plays presented during the year. This yearProscenium Players presented MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS bySally Benson for their annual three-act play. The play is thestory of the Smith family at the time of the St. Louis WorldsFair. The story centered around the familys plans to moveto New York and the childrens plots to stay in St. Louis. Otherchances for performing behind the footlights were the Thespian play, the Senior play, Drama Night, and school convocations. The bands, orchestras, and choruses provided trainingand experience for the musically talented student. Every student in the Varsity Band will remember the thrill of his firstconcert, half-time show, or parade. For every hour of performance, many more hours were spent in practice and drill.The Madrigal Singers had the opportunity of appearing before audiences in the community as well as before schoolaudiences. Art exhibits and displays gave the artistic studenta chance to show his work. In the art classes, students weretaught not only drawing and painting but the art of makingpottery and jewelry.Mrs. McNaughton, dramatics director, instructs Melindathe proper way to do a queenly curtsey.
