Row three:Paul Shotts, Kenneth Crouch,Jerry Rone, Stephen Boshears,Gordon Whitaker, Jimmy Dodd,Roger Duncan, Eddie Gardner.The SEVENTH and EIGHTH GRADE Y-TEENS are organizations for girls who are devotedto the task of building character, personality, andreligious faith.A period of devotions began every meeting. Aguest speaker or a member of the club conducted theprograms this year. Style shows, talent shows, plays,and panel discussions were presented by the girls.Officers for the eighth grade club were SheronSomes, president; Dorell Foster, vice-president; JuliaBinkley, secretary; and Marilyn Abram, treasurer.Mrs. Frances Atkins was the sponsor.Officers for the seventh grade club were JoAnnParker, president; Barbara Price, vice-president; andMarchetta McGlocklin, secretary. Mrs. Bee Johnsonwas the sponsor.The TORCH CLUB, a junior high branch of theYMCA, sponsored a party and invited the juniorhigh Y-Teens. Members presented a talent show atthe first meeting of the second semester.Wendell Hines, general secretary of the YMCA atIndiana University, spoke at the last meeting. Heexplained to the group how sports and charactershould work together.The officers this year were Roger Duncan, president; Danny Beyers, vice-president; Dean Edwards,secretary-treasurer; Mike Crouch, point secretary;and Bob Colson, chaplain.
