Going into the lastgame against the Little Cutters from Bedford,the Cubs had a good chance to break the reserveteam record, but lost a thriller in the last minute26-24. Paced by the starting line-up of Fred May,Bob Freeman, Bill Breneman, Paul Tincher, andBob Wampler, the seconds rang up victoriesover such outstanding reserve squads as Washington, Martinsville, Howe, Jasper, and Bedford.Although their record of five wins and eightlosses was not too impressive, Coach Huffsfreshmen, nevertheless, improved to the extentthat they pushed the Bloomington reserve teamto a very close victory in a pre-lim to one of thefinal home games.
