Duties of the board also includeproviding sufficient funds to finance school operations, considering schoolregulations, and studying public relations of the schools. Without the efficiencyof these people who work behind the scenes, we could not have our well-roundededucational program.We proudly present the members of our school board. Edgar A. OHarrow,president, is a prominent Bloomington pharmacist. He took his position on theboard in 1943 . . . Frank Southern, treasurer, became a member in 1941. Mr.Southern, a local banker, is well known throughout the community DavidG. Wylie, secretary, is president of a local limestone company and is at presentserving as president of the State Chamber of Commerce. Having taken hisposition on the board in 1940, he has now served longer than any other boardmember . . . Leon Chitwood, business agent of the local carpenters union, andMerritt A. Calvert, owner of a leading clothing establishment, are the newestmembers of the board . ...
