Cut itto about three inches. These are but afew of the expressions you might hearfrom the members of the Optimist staffshould you visit room 213 after school. These industrious students are constantlyscouring their minds for writing material with which to meet the deadline forthe next issue. To qualify for the staff, a studentmust have twelve inches of copy printedin the paper. To remain on the staff, each member must contribute copy forevery issue. Aside from the two andone-half cents taken from each pupilshome room fee, the paper is self-supporting through its advertising. Formerly aweekly paper, the Optimist is now distributed semi-monthly. This change givesthe staff more time to work and enablesthem to produce a better paper.Howard Dess acted as editor-in-chiefthe first semester and as co-editor withMaribelle Shaw the second semester.Miss Hopewell and Mr. Stradling werethe faculty advisor and business managerrespectively.PAGE 82
