Bloomington High School, The Gothic, 1946, Page 9

Description: A Day In B. H. S.Upon entering the doors of B.H.S. today, we trudged upthe stairs to our lockers, gathered a load of books, and joined ourchattering friends in the front hall. After obtaining all the latestgossip, we proceeded to our first class. The period was half overwhen we were disturbed by five long rings of the fire drill bell.We were out of the building in record time, but we lingered onthe walks as long as possible before re-entering. The secondperiod continued as usual with no interruptions except for thedays announcements. The next 55 minutes were spent wishing we had studied the preceding night instead of going to theshow. Around 12 oclock, delectable aromas drifting up fromthe cafeteria aroused our hunger and made the remainder of theperiod seem endless. When the bell rang at last, we brushed asidereturning 4th-period lunchers, and hurried home to the foodawaiting us.Returning at 1:30, we headed for our 6th period class. Theafternoon passed quickly, and we were soon receiving last-minute reminders of club meetings via the public address system. The bell sounded and another school day ended.
