■■■IHHHI^^HACTIVITIESIn addition to the required and elective courses given inBloomington High School, there are many extra activitiesfor all students who are interested. It has always been thepractice of the school to offer all possible activities for awell-rounded development of the student.The first school in Bloomington was organized in 1818.A literary society was the only club of that school. Withthe development of the high school, the range of activitieshas grown broader to fit the needs of the student. TodayBloomington High School has approximately twenty-fourclubs. That is a twenty-four hundred per cent increase.Along with literary and scholastic organizations, theschool has now broadened its activities to include fillingThanksgiving and Christmas cheer baskets to add to thecomfort of the needy during these holidays.Through organizations and other forms of extra curricu-lar activities, every student has the opportunity to enlargehis general interests or to gain more experience in the fieldof his particular talent.— 58 — |
