NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETYBloomingtons first Honor Society was organized in 1927at which time it became a member of the National HonorSociety. The purpose of fostering and maintaining highscholastic standards, which are scholarship, service, leadership,and character, has remained the same during the past twelveyears.With these standards serving as a basis, the faculty electedthirty-eight members from the upper one-fourth of this yearssenior class. These students were proud to be eligible to wearthe small gold pins bearing the torch of knowledge.Members are initiated annually in an impressive ceremonystaged in the auditorium.
