Description: FOOTBALLHoward MartinGuardTry as they could, the opponents of Martin, who was oneof the regular guards last fall, seldom took him out. He wasas unmoving on the defense as Jo-Jo the Rock of Gibraltar,or John Voliva. The absence of Howard from the lineupnext fall will be keenly felt.Charles McDanielTackleWhen they hit big Mac they hit a stone wall.McDaniel, who filled one of the positions at tackle, wasstrong on both the defense and offense. His consistencyabove all marked him as a good player. He will be eligiblefor participation in sports next year.Tom OHaverHalfbackWhen Tommy toted the pigskin, there was usually again marked up to his credit. He shared the honors ofquarterback with Becker and Woodruff though he customarily played halfback. OHaver was an excellent lineplunger and broken field runner.Like the majority of last years team, he will not playnext fall.Owen SummersGuardAlthough Summers had never seen a football before,he dug right in and soon was playing on the first team.Owen was a strong guard and usually kept his opponentpretty well worried. It is regrettable that he graduatesthis spring for he showed promise of becoming a very goodplayer.
