Bloomington High School, The Gothic, 1930, Page 136

Description: mTto Suggest—WITH the permission of the fabled gentle reader, thestaff of this great annual of 1930 will giA^e in the littlearticle to follow a few suggestions in general on all subjects. This is not an official class prophecy, nor is it an official classwill, but is merely an unofficial suggestion to the Juniors as tohoAV to carry on after the class of 1930 is gone.In the first place a most important thing is to select a dignifiedpresident of the class, for it is this personage Avho Avill lead youinto the promised land. We selected a dignified man, and thatswhy we have been so successful; you do the same. From then onselect, as we did, the rest of the officers purely from likes and dislikes. Elect for an editor of The Gothic the one that displays thegreatest lack of intelligence. He Avill give you the best annual.Always exercise class politics when ever possible, and dont makeany money at all. But by all means give a big class memorial—say a fieldhouse or something. If this adArice is adhered to strictly, you will be truly an outstanding class.Get a good class politican like Elmo—Ave suggest Penny Brad-fute. By all means get a strong seargent-at-Arms for the enforcement of order at meetings. Ours Avas Damon Lindley; you mightget Brute Kelley. We had no humorist, but Johnny Barnhilland Tom OHaA^er Avould help out here. A sense of humor isnecessary; Ave never had it but it is a nice thing to possess. Andseriously, select a great sponsor like Miss Rouse. These are merely a feAv personal ideas as to hoAV to make a success of your lastyear in high school. And after you are Seniors, put the Juniors Avhere they belong.Seniors go Avith the prettiest of girls, haA^e all the dates, and doall the things that are worth while around the school. Its a greatlife, and when it comes to haAnng a good opinion of yourselvesas Seniors, dont Aveaken. One Hundred Thirty-six|0]|
