Description: THE JUNIOR GIRLS GLEE CLUBMusic the fiercest grief can charm,And fates severest rage disarm.Music can soften pain to ease,And make despair and madness please.In order to promote appreciation of music among Junior High Schoolgirls other than in class work, the Junior Girls Glee Club was formed inNovember of this year. The club meets every Friday after school.During the first semester the members of the club studied Christmascarols, which they sang at the Methodist church for the Christmas programthere. This semester the club worked on the operetta Belles of Barcellona,which was presented in the auditorium during music week. The principalparts in the operetta were taken by members of the club and some of the boysof the Junior High School music classes.The organization, sponsored by Mrs. Avanell Dixon, has been doingvery commendable work.Page One Hundred and Four
