The constitution was also missing, and a new one had to be drawn up.This one, however, followed as closely as was remembered the former one. Atthe first meeting of the year Emerson Gerhart was elected president and HenrySnyder vice-president. Helen Thomas was retained as secretary and Mrs. LauraChilds as Treasurer and Executive Secretary. All teachers of science are sponsorsof the club.During the first semester two lectures were given before the club. Thefirst was given by Mr. H. C. Hazel on different phenomena in the field ofPhysics. The other was delivered by Mr. Sidney Esten of the UniversityZoology department on the habits of birds. Mr. Hazel illustrated his lectureby many demonstrations, and Mr. Esten used lantern slides and many specimens to show his points. The picture shows those who were eligible for membership after the secondsix weeks of the first semester.Page Seventy-Seven |
