Aftermuch hard work, the following boys, the charter members, worked out a verygood constitution: Charles Harrel, Jack Burrows, David Rothrock, WilliamHolland, Louie Souders, Lloyd Griffin, John Hicks, John Foley and RexBradt. The purpose of the Junior Hi-Y is to create, maintain and extendthrough the school and community high standards of Christian character. Eachmember of the Junior Hi-Y holds this standard very high.Ever since the day of the first meeting of the organization, it has beengrowing. The old members were very careful to pick the boys who theythought would stand for and uphold the high ideals of the club. The rangeof membership for the Junior Hi-Y includes boys of the seventh, eighth andninth grades who will carry out the principles of the club. Some time after the club was started, the boys took over the old ticketbooth to check the pupils lunches who did not wish to leave them lying aroundto take care of themselves. This proved to be a very good thing. A Biblestudy was also worked up among the members. This helped the members toget better acquainted with the Bible. The Club this semester is doing a great work with Mr. Church as thesponsor. Charles Harrel is the president for this semester.Any boy of the seventh, eighth or ninth grades who will holdup and carry out the ideals of the organization is welcome to membership.Page Seventy-FourJk |
