But Columbus turned the tables and defeated the Purplesquad, 45 to 21. Departing from here they went to Rushville and took themover, 36 to 30 in an overtime game. This broke the losing streak of five consecutive games.On January 8 and 15, the Panthers played two games with Wormyshome town of Huntington, defeating them in both matches.After winning on the 15th, they stopped off at Kokomo to play theWildcats, and although holding them during the first half, the Kats pulledaway and won, 38 to 26, during the last few minutes.Then came Mark Wakefields crew up from Evansville, and they returnedtasting the sting of defeat, 34 to 21.Page One Hundred Nine |
