1921GOTHICB. H. S.Many years ago, when the old college building housed the high school, whenB. H. S. basketball was not, and when our baseball teams swept the State fromnorth to south, two Senior boys of the Class of Nineteen Nine were seized by theidea of publishing an Annual. Such an annual they planned as would be a com-plete and permanent record of the high school for the full year. It should con-tain pictures, poems, stories, cartoons, fancies, facts, truth and fiction. Like allother annuals, it should be wholly original. So it was that George Henley, the first editor, published the first Gothic intiie historic building which gave to it its name. It was a success, and a successhas it always been. Certain traditions have been preserved in the general formand content of the Gothic. Its name shall be a lasting tribute and memorial tothe old building. Now, in the spring of nineteen twenty-one, it is our welcome privilege topublish the Gothic. We have certain hopes and standards which we wish toattain. We place before you the result. Read it, examine it, criticise it, improveupon it. If you are satisfied, we are pleased, if you are pleased we are delighted,if you are delighted we are satisfied. Our goal is attained.Five |
