BHSThe Old BuildingThe next year the college building was destroyed by fire and a new one hadto be built. Late in the seventies another one was built. This was struckby lightning in 1883 and burned to the ground. The tract of land facingFifth Street, the present college campus, was then purchased and the collegemoved there. The university placed a preparatory school in the old collegebuilding on Second Street. Much the same course of study was offered inprep, or the Model School, as it was called, as in High school.
