B-Men, Cinderellas, Pompettes, WrestlerettesDo Their Thing For BHSIT HAS been said that familiaritybreeds contempt. Perhaps thefamiliarity of the BHS studentbody with the super success ofits athletic teams had led to akind of general apathy if notactual contempt. This studentindifference, unmatched by anyother SCC school, is not, however, typical of all students. In fact thefour groups pictured on thesetwo pages took just the oppositeattitude. The B-Mens Club, which inreecnt years has fallen into idleness, was somewhat rejuvenatedthis year with their active role inthe staging of winter sportsevents. Their activities rangedfrom sweeping floors to collectingtickets and adding a lot of enthusiasm with a boys cheerblock.A welcome addition to thePanther sports scene were theWrestlerettes. Formed under thesupervision of Coach Kay Hutsell, these girls actually ran all themeets held at BHS, doing an especially smooth job during thevery complex sectional andregional tournaments. The Cinderellas, under thesupervision of Marshall Goss, served many roles at the BHStrack meets, but most importantlyprovided support for tracksters attheir often fanless meets. Andfinally the Pompettes who provided the Panther partisans withvarying half time entertainmentand a lot of zealous vocal supportfor the teams.120 |
