Description: Coaches Direct Panthers Gridiron SuccessForty-one victories is a long time,a lot of work, and a special kind ofpride. Its 134 players, over 120,000fans, enthusiastic administrators,and seven highly skilled men. Theseare the seven coaches who togetherhave formed the most successfulgroup of coaches in the states history.Fred Huff, Al Gallo and Russ Forsyth were the coaching staff directing the Panther gridders on thatrainy night at Muncie Central whenthe streak began. Since that time thestaff has changed completely but thesuccess has remained. This yearwhen the Panthers took the fieldthey were guided by Tom Sells, Marvin Groh, and Phil Smith. One important factor present on all thestaffs for the past five years, was thetireless work of Trainer Tom Petry.All these men have worked longhours to insure the success of theBHS football program and it is theirpride that is mirrored in the pride ofthe young men who have playedunder them for the duration of thestreak.£ tr(Top) Head Coach for the last 20 wins, TomSells celebrates Richmond win with first yearvarsity line coach, Phil Smith. (Lower Right) Backfield coach of68 and 70 seasons, Al Gallo was mostly responsible for the 40 points per game averagethe Panthers held throughout the entirestreak.17
