But alas, he got no kiss.IN ADDITION to their 12-0 dual meet recordthe Panther grapplers added three tourney titles.They romped through the sectional racking up161 points to 104 for second place Columbusand advanced eight wrestlers to the regionals.At the regional the BHS matmen met theirstiffest competition of the tourney. The Panthersknocked out two of the best wrestlers in the statewho were on the Franklin Central squad. Theregional victory in Coach Hutsells opinion, wasthe biggest step in winning the state title.The four boys who went to state were MartyHutsell, Jim Cornwell, Mike Milan and Billy Abney. Cornwell won first place in his weight division with Hutsell taking a second and Milan andAbney each finishing third. These finishes gavethe team 28 points for the championship. NorthCentral who had 23 points finished second withArlington and Franklin Central finishing thirdwith 22 points each.133 |
