Led by juniors Greg Milan, Dan Pollock, andScott Ayers, the Panthers compiled a 2-3 record during the regular season but met disaster in the formof the winding creek and out-of-bounds of Connersville Country Club as they ended up 31 strokes behind victorious Franklin. Milan found the out-of-boundstwice on the first hole, and Ayers hit into the creekthree times on the fifteenth hole* Milan finished withan 80 on the par 72 course followed by Pollock withan 86, Mark Rieger with an 89, and Ayers with a 93.After losing close meets to Southport, Martinsville,and Columbus, the Panthers found victory in the lasttwo matches of the season with sound defeats overSouthport and Seymour.112*: |
