SIBLING RIVALRYGoing to school with a sibling can be fun, exciting, annoying, and embarrass!ng. Here at Aurora,we have a few sibling pairs roaming the halls.Ashleigh Eller grabs her little brotherJeremiah in the hall after school.Coley and Micah Gillespie fool around in the commons. Both claim to have similar musical interests.By Ashleigh EllerTake, for instance, Coley andMicah Gillespie; Coley, the eldest, asophomore, and Micah a freshman. Both say they enjoy going to school together: “We get to spend more time together, and this is time when we can’tfight. We love each other; we have eachothers backs,” Coley commented. Shealso says, “If we wake up in the morning and I’m all ‘teed off’ at him, I can’tjust leave him at home; I have to cometo school with him, and it’s really hardbecause I try to be mad at him, but Ican’t; he’s the coolest person in some ofmy classes.” Micah says that his sisterreally knows who he is: “ she knowswhat I wear and how I act; she knowswhat to expect from me, more then mymom does.”Jeremiah says that going toschool with his sister (me, AshleighEller) is just the same as going to schoolwithout her. But, for me, I think it’s funto have him around to pick on. |
