WelcomeWelcome to the 2007-2008 Phoenix. We have had a fairly hectic year this year, and the yearbookprobably looks a little bit different as a result. This year I was not able to offer a third trimester yearbookclass because I was focusing on the four-period block Veterans History Project that I team-taught withBarb and Lisa. However, several block students came together to help me get out our yearbook towardthe end of the trimester. All things considered, it really doesnt look so bad. I hope you enjoy it and treasure the pictures andmemories it holds. I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Lisa Thompson for all the pictures she took andall of the smiles she was able to get from everyone. If you think you look just a little bit better in youryearbook picture than you usually do, you can thank Lisa. I also want to thank the students who helpedme put this book together. Without them, this book wouldnt have happened. Finally, if there is anything I left out or if there is something that doesnt look like you thought itwould, it is my fault, and I am sorry. I probably didnt do it on purpose. I want to end this page byincluding a poem written by Sydney Jaeger while she was in my first trimester yearbook class. The assignment was to research Auroras history and create a something that could be used in the yearbookthat reflects the changes Aurora has gone through. This is the poem she wrote for that assignment. Ithink youll like it and maybe even find something to relate to in her words.Sincerely,Becky RupertAuroras RootsUnified and diverse at heart, our bottomless roots started strong at the foundation,a chance for masked individuals to excel,a proposal carried out by an inspirational man.Words like respect, dedication, and success swell in our ears and minds.Optimism soaring throughout our spirits, second chances without guilt, the feeling of possibility sets in.Fearful to admit that help is needed,we try to go unnoticed.Emotions are overwhelming with the care granted, invisible to no eyes of this cohesive family,a secure place with a flexible structure,a safe place, a modest-sized cushion to fall on.Bold and passionate teachers build up our confidence. We are able to learn comfortably.Sydney Jaeger |
