Description:	Amee Supports Students and Staff with HerHumor and Good WillNot every adult, and definitely not every student, enjoysgoing to work or school at 8:00a.m. But Amee Yoder looksforward to her days as MathTeacher at Aurora AlternativeHigh School.Amee is a gentle, affectionateperson, and would do anythingfor anyone. As Bob Jacobs said,“It is great working with Ameebecause she is one of the mostsupportive and caring teachers Iknow.” Amee believes she isforming relationships now thatshe will have for the rest of herlife. She is very involved withthe students and thinks they aredelightful.Amee’s big goal this year wasto focus on meeting individualstudents’needs. For instance,although only three peopleneeded second year Algebra,she took the time to prepare andteach that class. HeatherSample said,’’She has gottenme through second year Algebra in a positive way.” Overall,Amee is very pleased with theefforts of Aurora students.This year, BusinessMath was offered second Contemplating,concentrating,and calculatingall go on in Amee’s classes.and third quarter. This classworked with an LU. programcalled Chelsea Bank. Whiledoing this program, students actas bank tellers and developdecision-making skills. Ameediscovered Chelsea BankShelly Bundy and HeatherSample listen eagerly inAlgebra 2 as Amee explainsinverse variation. GaryRamsey listens in as well.through her association withProfessor Tom Duffy in theSchool of Education. ChasePotter chose this class secondquarter and said, “It is a reallygood program. I feel the classreally enjoyed it.”Amee is really lookingforward to next fall when wemove into our new home.
