Description: Several times during this school year the staff and student body took off from academics and relaxed.At the Boys and Girls Club, we played pool, basketball, and fooseball during one freeday on October 31.After we began to settle in our new abode, we took a trip to Indianapolis. The Government Class and several other students were led by teachers Bob Jacobs and Jan Hagemeyeraround the State Capitol building. I planned to take 12 kids to tour the Statehouse; Iwanted them to get a chance to see government first hand, Bob said. The rest of the studentbody mosied around the Indiana State Museum with teachers Amee Yoder, Janet Johnson,and student teacher Casey Blough.On April 19th, students gathered at Bryan Park for a Fun Day celebration with a civicpurpose. The students cleaned up the Park and the area behind College Mall for Earth Day.In the late spring, the whole school took a field trip to Indiana University to see theMathers Museum, the Student Memorial Union, and the Fine Arts Museum with a shortdetour to the Showalter Fountain. I really enjoyed going through the museums learningdifferent stuff about ancient artifacts and old paintings, said Gary Ramsey.These field trips proved that learning can be fun and relaxing.Tom GreenwoodIs that beautiful ElijahSteele?
