Drivers Racing Along a Wooden Track, ca. 1920s

Description: Drivers race along an oval board track during a race. Board track racing, which was popular during the 1910s and 1920s was first used for motorcyle races and later developed for cars. The tracks, which were inexpensive to create, were not durable and needed a great deal of maintenance, resulting in most being abandoned after just a few years of use.
