The motifs in Ann Kline’s sampler are typically found in Pennsylvania German samplers. Ann’s sampler was “Done in the 10th year of her age May 1829.” There are several sets of initials in the sampler that probably refer to family members. Stitches used on the sampler include heavy eyelets, cross stitch and straight and satin stitches.
