| Description: |
This memo describes the conflict between the IU real estate office in Indianapolis and Lucy Temple. The Temple family asked for $68,000 as their final offer on their properties, which included parcels on Minerva and West Streets. IU insisted that the fair market value of the properties was between $25,000 and $30,000, but offered $40,000 at one point. Cobb suggests that they can either pay the $68,000, or seek the condemnation of the propert and use the power of eminent domain to pay less than the requested amount. Both alternatives had unappealing consequences, and Cobb despairs of acquiring the property in a timely manner. |
