Preliminary report regarding the Indiana Avenue neighborhood

Description:	Memo from the Committee on Universitys Services to the Community with recommendations for behavior towards and support of neighborhood residents being displaced by the university. Clarity of communication, hiring social workers, and providing loans to residents to purchase new homes are three of the major recommendations. The memo acknowledges that the market price of properties in the area is not the full replacement cost of new property. It also cautions against the paternalism that characterizes treatment of community members by university faculty and students.
