Cobra Coupe at LeMans, 1964

Description: Attached text reads: This Ford Cobra coupe, shown at speed during the 24-hour endurance race held at LeMans, France, June 20-21, finished fourth overall behind three Ferrari prototypes and first in the GT class. Entered by Californian Carroll Shelby and driven by Californians Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant, this Cobra beat nine other Ferraris to break a seven-year string of GT class wins made by the famous Italian automaker. In winning the class, Gurney and Bondurant drove this car for 333 laps or 2,764 miles to set a new distance record for cars powered by American engines. 6-22-64.
