Starting as drag champ, he gained fame as No. 1 Corvette driver of the west. He also starred in modified races and was factory test driver of teh Sting Ray prototype for Chevrolet before the model was put into production. He set fastest lap ever recorded at Riverside last October, 1:34, in test shakedown of new Cooper-Cobra-Ford. A Shelby-American team driver for the past two seasons, Dave competes regularly in GT and sports car races and is now in the first rank of American road racers. |
