Nurses escorting victims families, 1963

Description: Caption on photo reads: Red Cross registered nurses and nurses aides acted as escorts to families of the Coliseum explosion victims. Pictured is nurses aide, Mrs. E. W. Reich. The explosion occurred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum during the finale of a theatrical-type ice show, Halloween night, October 31, 1963. Seventy-three persons dies as a result of the explosion and nearly 400 were injured. This was the largest single disaster to hit the State of Indiana.
