Description: |
Butch Mote and another man stand with Ray Harroun, the first person to ever win the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. Harroun won the race on May 30, 1911, without a riding mechanic; instead, Harroun used a rear-view mirror. This is widely regarded to be the first documented use of a rear-view mirror in a motor vehicle. |
