Driver Tony Stewart sits in his covered #2 racecar entered by Team Menard as an umbrella is held over him during a rainy day at the track. Rain delays would keep the race from occuring on its scheduled Sunday, May 25th and stop the race after 15 laps on Monday, May 26th. The 1997 Indianapolis 500 finally ran on Tuesday, May 27th. |
