Rebuilding the Garages after the Fire, 1941

Description: Seen here are the track garages as they are being rebuilt after the fire. On Memorial Day morning, 1941, a fire had broken out when fumes from the refueling of George Barringers racecar caught fire from some welding going on in a nearby garage and much of the the southern bank of garages was subsequently destroyed.
