Description: |
Depicted here is an article run in the Indianapolis News on the first running of the Indianapolis 500. The text of the article reads Theyre Off and Running in First 500 -- Four cars roar around the first turn at better than 75 mph during the first running of the 500-Mile Race. Henry Ford, already a power in the automobile world, was an interested visitor before and during the race which he recorded in a series of pictures never before published. It was natural that Ford, who first gained publich attention by winning races with his famous old 999 racer, should be on hand for the first Memorial Day Race. |
