Lineup for Prest-O-Lite Race, 1909

Description: Cars line up on the track of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the start of the 250 mile Prest-O-Lite trophy race. Pictured alongside their riding mechanics are William Bourque in the #3 Knox, Tom Kincaid in the #6 National, and Charlie Merz in the #7 National. Bourque and his riding mechanic Harry Holcomb would become part of the first tragedy at the track when both were killed after hitting a fence post.
