The two-story facility accommodates on hundred and sixty beds in dormitories, single rooms, and apartments. The facility replaced the Salvation Armys building at 311 N. Capitol. The center was dedicated in June of 1981. The site was formerly occupied with a filling station, an apartment building, two doubles, and a surface parking lot.Architectural Description: The Harbor Light Center of the Salvation Army is composed of two forms. The large two-story rectangular building has a recessed entrance, and a few small windows. To the north is a gabled section with a fractable.
