Smith-Lewis House1810 North Alabama Streetc. 1890Jacob W. Smith built this house as his residence between 1888 and 1899. He lived here until 1907. The only other long-term owner of the property was George S. Lewis, who resided here from 1920 to 1951.This 2-story, frame Stick Style house has clapboard and some decorative scalloped siding articulated by applied stick work over the first floor windows and surrounding the second story windows. The house has a T plan and a hip and gable roof. The corner porch has square, brick piers, angled cutaway corners, and exposed rafter ends.Herron-Morton Place Historic Area Preservation Plan, 1986
