Description:	On slide mount: 1446 Central AvenueSouth and West (Central Ave., elevations Yes Webb-Brubaker-Hampton House1446 Central Avenue1888Although the porch and some of the decorative trim have been lost, the general massing and other remaining details attest to the original Queen Anne Style of this house, built for Isaiah Webb, a clerk at the J.A. Moore Desk Company. Webb lived in the home until 1904.It appears the house may have been a duplex, for at the same time Webb resided at 1446, Grant A. Brubaker and his family also occupied the home. A physician, he practiced both privately and with his father under the name Brubaker & Brubaker, Specialists. The family lived at that address from 1899 to about 1911.In 1912 John E. Hampton (1866-1946) took up residence. Hampton was President of the Hampton Printing Company, and also served as President of the Indianapolis Typographical Union.
