Louisa Ducking bought it in 1898. By 1901, attorney William S. Taylor purchased the house. He and his family lived here until 1946. Taylor was general counsel and vice president for the Empire Life and Accident Insurance Company. He was elected governor of Kentucky in 1899, but had lived in exile in Indianapolis since 1900 to escape charges for the murder of his Democratic opponent. Marvin J. Craig was an owner-occupant from 1947 until 1979.A 2 1/2-story frame house, which had asbestos over the clapboard siding, it features a multi-gable roof with south and west projections. The building has a full-width front porch with grouped Tuscan columns.
