On back of photograph: The first National Dairy Judging Contest for students of Vocational Agriculture was held in connection with the National Dairy Show, Indianapolis, Indiana, October 12-18, 1925. The team that represented Missouri was from Keytesville. They won first place in the judging of all breeds in the contests. In the picture from left to right are : J. A. Linke, Federal Agent for Agricultural Education for the North Central States. C. L. Angerer, teacher of vocational agriculture and coach of the team. Arthur Kothe, high individual in the entire contest and winner of the $400 scholarship given by the DeLaval Separator Company. Abner Dotson, awarded a gold medal by the Holstein Association and a bronze medal by the Jersey Association. Henry Remmert, awarded a gold medal by the Holstein Association and a silver medal by the Jersey Association. This picture was taken in front of the World War I Monument Square, downtown Indianapolis. J. A. Linke was born in Indiana and owned a farm in the state. |
