American Star Farmer judges, 1937

Description: Caption : Three well-known, outstanding and busy Americans take time out from their many duties to do a job they have never done before--to select the Star American Farmer. Left to right, the judges were: Willard E. Givens, Executive Secretary of the National Education Association, Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes, and Philip S. Rose, Editor-in-Chief of The Country Gentleman. The name of the Star American Farmer will be announced at the annual convention of the Future Farmers of America, in Kansas City, Mo., October 17 to 22, at which time the farm boy so honored will receive $500 in cash awarded by W.A. Cochel, of the Weekly Kansas City Star, for his efficiency in farm enterprises and for his leadership abilities and activities during the past year.
