Vest with no side seams, white with wide red woven border at bottom, red stitching border down sides and one side of front, 2 buttons in front, pattern of white leaves is woven into the white material, fringe at bottom is interlaced and knotted. From the Curator-- This was given as a gift to Juanita Devers (donor) by a part Indian and Negro woman. It had belonged to this womans great aunts and was used as a shoulder throw when combing hair. The woman was supposed to have been a Delaware Indian. |
