Description:	Title from booklet. Limited edition of 8, signed and numbered by the artist. Multiple background plates were made for each book, then hand-inked à la poupée and printed on Hahnemuhle German etching paper with an etching press ... [N]ineteen intaglio solar plates were created to contain the narrative of the book. The text plates were hand-inked ... for each book and then printed onto the background pages with an etching press. The font used for the English text is Koufiya LT, designed by Nadine Chahine, based on the early Kufi style popular in the Middle East from the seventh to tenth century ... The Arabic text is B Fantezy font. The covers of the books and the portfolio are made from archival tyvek, textured and hand painted ... The maps for each book ... are printed on Hiromi Niyodo Natural paper. When I was ten years old, I was enchanted by the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and the Fertile Crescent. As I began my research on my book for the al-Mutanabbi Project, I wondered how we, as a civilization, had drifted from this rich viewpoint ... My intention is to also honor the men and women in all times and places who create art, in particular those who foster the growth of human wisdom through books and poetry.
