Born near Great Falls, Montana, he has played in rock n roll bands, worked in Alaskan canneries, and been a ranch hand and fought forest fires in Montana. Day is a professor emeritus from the University of Nebraska Omaha and the former director of the UNO Print Workshop. He earned a BA from Montana State University and an MFA from Florida State University in 1976.Day has been a visiting artist in Belgium, Israel, Spain, and the American Academy in Rome. He has received numerous awards including an Individual Artists Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. His prints and animations have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are included in many public and private collections. |
