Lydia Middleton School

Description: On November 6, 1922, Lide White sent a letter to fellow citizens requesting funds for the completion of the new school. The school was finished on the site of the razed Lower Seminary School and its formal opening took place on October 25, 1923. Named for Lydia Middleton, long time school teacher and principal in Madison, the school housed elementary children until 1973.
