James Poynter was born in 1841 in Henry County, Kentucky and then lived for some time in Woodford County, Kentucky. He came to Madison about 30 years before his death. He died at his home on Ferry Street on February 20, 1933. He was a common sight on the Madison scene and was known to many as the rag man. Picture taken c. 1927 |
