Description: Cass has received 2 vouchers from Tipton via Mr. Forsyth; one for the quarter ending 29 February 1824 for $865 and one for $100 for pay for Tipton for his first month as Indian agent. Cass has no funds to pay either, but will pay the $865 as soon as possible. He is awaiting a response from the second auditor concerning Tiptons request for back pay. Discusses Mr. Astor and the American Fur Company and problems with their Mr. Wallace.
