Description: |
This is a black-and-white 7” x 5” composite photograph of the Hoosier Cornhuskers with each of the group members name or alias inscribed along the bottom of the image. This photograph is an assemblage of images of people who played with the band. They are (starting at the left) Fred Oliver dressed as his alter ego “The Old Man of Mountain” on guitar; Al Pettit on accordion; Pete “Grandpap” Smith on fiddle; Bonnie Jean on guitar; Fred Oliver on bass; and another image of Pete Smith dressed in his Grandpap costume. The Hoosier Corn Huskers line up kept changing over the years. The two constants were Al Petit on accordion and Pete “Grandpap” Smith on fiddle and mandolin. Also participating with the group were Margaret and Lavera “Dottie Lou” Schwaberow (also performed as Sunset Valley Girls), Mary Lee Gerencser, Darl Fox and Clair L Meekins. |
